I Can’t believe it myself, Chester is 17 years old. For those of you who don’t have a dog/human relationship that’s 119 in dog years !!
How corny is this ….our family celebrated his birthday and aunt D even baked him a doggie birthday cake. The cake must have been pretty good, he made pretty quick work of it. I guess the whole thing reeks of people who love their animals…..yep, we love the old guy and especially enjoy the 10 year old home movies of Chester and the kids. This old guy has been as much a part of this family as any one of us.
Personally, I could learn more than one lesson from my furry companion. I think of how many times I scolded him for being bad only to have him wagging his tail at me like I’d been gone for years only five minutes later. I certainly have never been so quick to forgive and forget !! And how many of us would enjoy the same christmas present for 17 consecutive years ???? He’s been opening his own presents and acting surprised at getting “tennis balls” for 17 years…good grief man… how many tennis balls does one dog need ?
