Have you looked at the cost of colleges lately ? A friend shared some information with me a while back and until now hadn’t even thought about sharing
If you haven’t looked into a 529 college savings plan now would be a good time to check out the benefits. The place I used also offers a great little option that will allow grandma, gramps, the uncles, aunts, etc to help with your kids college with no “out of pocket” money on their part. You need to visit www.upromise.com and look at how easy it is to set up an account. Once the account is set up, whoever is willing to help out simply needs to register their credit cards on your account. Purchases they make of certain “name brand” products or stores will generate a rebate that is credited to your child’s upromise account. Nobody’s going to get rich from the rebates, but it’s “found money” if you take advantage of it.
Another nice option Amy & I use relates state colleges and purchasing credits at today’s prices that can be used into the future no matter how much higher the price goes. Check out www.pheaa.org/specialprograms.
Lastly, call us for some cheap term life insurance that can fund this in the case of your death.
